Kinsey's first Halloween!

Well today I learned that things don't always go as planned when it comes to holidays and having an infant. Especially one that thinks she is already two! We made last minute plans to have everyone come to our house rather then dragging her around to see all of our family. After frantically making the house presentable and gathering all of the things we needed, family came over and we had a blast. Although it was crazy and hectic and full of Type A Mommas (love them all), it was a great first Halloween for Kinsey. She dressed up as a lady bug and her cousin Kenna was a witch! We took her to a few houses on our street and she smiled at them and even tried to share her soggy wet hands she'd been chewing on. I can't wait to see what next year is like!

The One About Organizing Clothes!

With Kinsey being so tiny, it's no surprise she's been in the same clothes for what feels like forever!! As the weather turns to cold {for today anyway} I decided it was time to go through all of her clothes. I got all of her 0-3 months and 3 months clothes down stairs and began sorting. Tops and dresses matched with the correct bottoms and bloomers. Some outfits had 3 pieces which made things a little difficult. Anyways, I did it all in about an hour and a half! I was pretty shocked to see it all!

The One About Going To School!

So normally on Thursday's Michael's mom and MamMaw come over and watch Kinsey while I'm in school. Today my mother-in-law was out of town so I decided to bring her to class with me. {After I checked with my health professor of course!} I was really nervous because she was being a stinker as we were getting ready for school. She didn't want to get dressed, pulled her ponytail out and stood at the coffee table blowing raspberries at me. I chalked it up to teething, so I gave her some Advil and teething tablets, fed her a quick snack and we were off to school! She passed out almost instantly. She had already had 2 one hour naps {which is a lot for her} so I was shocked! We got to school and she did great!! You could barely tell she was there! She watched Doc McStuffins and ate some puffs. She drank a bottle and banged a little on the desk. Other then that and the random occasional "dada" she was amazing! Afterward, my professor said she was the best student!

The One About Halloween Pictures!

For Halloween Kinsey is going to be a Ladybug! I got her costume off of Etsy, and honestly was a little disappointed when I got it in the mail. And then I put it on....

The One About The Park!!

Today it was BEAUTIFUL outside!! It was nice and cool in the morning and then bright and sunny in the afternoon! It was a little windy, but it made for a great day outside! I decided to take Kinsey to the park for the first time as a big girl! {she went when she was real little, but I just sat her in the swing} I pushed her in the swing and she loved it!! My sister and her friend Taylor joined us and we all had a great day!!

We had such a great day at the park!! Kinsey was exhausted and has been sleeping since 7:25!! Tomorrow we are taking fall pictures with Ms. Kindra!! :)

9 Month Update!!

Today my baby turned 9 months old!! She has officially been outside of my belly as long as she was inside my belly!! I can't believe she is already 9 months old! It's been an amazing 9 months, I can't wait to see what this next month brings!

Stats:

Weight- 15 pounds 4 1/2 ounces

Length- 28 inches

She is still really tall for her age at 75% and tiny at 4% for weight. She went down from 10%-4% but her doctor isn't worried. Now that she is crawling, it will be harder for her to put weight on. I started trying to nurse her more to get her more calories during the day. She is just built exactly like her daddy! Long and Lean!

Sleep: I decided to sleep train Kinsey this month. I don't believe in Cry it Out, so we did our own modified version. After nursing her, I laid her down and put her seahorse on. Any time she would really cry (not her fake drama cry) I would go up there and soothe her. It only took 50 minutes. I was prepared to do this for multiple nights, but it only took one! She no longer nurses at night and if she gets up she can find her paci on her own and goes right back to sleep. She naps 2-3 times a day for about 30-45 minutes each. Some times she will nap longer, but it is very rare.

Food: She eats stage 2 foods 3 times a day. She loves to snack on puffs, yogurt melts, cheese crunchies, grapes, cheese, watermelon, and any other fruit. I have recently started giving her anything I am eating. She loves eating like a big girl! She nurses about 4-5 times a day, but really can nurse whenever she wants. Kinsey still LOVES to drink from her sippy cup!

Firsts: This month Kinsey Crawled, pulled up, got her first tooth, went to her first football game, had her first night time babysitter (that actually laid her down), went to Austin, took a 2.5 hour nap, and took our first girls road trip. It was a very big month!

Clothes: Tonight is the last night of 6 month Pajamas! They are getting too short and she tried to take them off tonight! Still in 6 month clothes, that are big in the waist, but fit in length for now. I have a feeling we will need to go to 9 months soon for length, but we will see. It is getting pretty hard to get clothes for her because she is so tiny! Her 3 months clothes fit in her waist, but are too short on her. I plan on going through her clothes this weekend.

The One with Her First Tooth!!

Kinsey will be 9 months old Wednesday and until now has had no teeth!! She has been showing signs of teething for months now, but no tooth! Finally today, I felt a little nub and I looked and there it was!! It literally popped up over night! I am so excited! It will continue to break through these next couple days, and I suspect the one next to it is next! 

Yes, she was crying... but I just had to snap a picture! I had been trying all day!!

I will be sad to see her gummy smile go, but glad she has joined the Chomper Club! :)

The One About Being 8 Months Old!

Well since my darling little girl is going to be 9 months old soon, I figured I better post her 8 month old update!! (better late then never right!?)

Sleep:
I changed her bed time routine a little bit this month since I was going back to school full time. She eats dinner and gets a bath and then gets to play some more. When I get home from school I spend some time with her and then lay her down after we nurse. I did this so I was the one putting her to bed at night instead of someone else. She took about 4 naps a day for 30- 45 minutes a piece. She loves to sleep on her side, or on her belly.

Food:
Kinsey has started feeding herself so much more lately. She eats puffs, yogurt melts, biter biscuits, baby mum mums, grapes, avocado, banana, and carrots. She still nurses 3-4 times a day and once or twice at night. She eats stage 2 foods 3 times a day. Still fruit at breakfast, a veggie for lunch, and a meat with a veggie at dinner. Some nights she is still hungry so I give her another fruit. She snacks all day and drinks from a sippy cup! 

Firsts:
This month Kinsey said Mama, signed dog, walked forward in her walker, and spent time with her favorite babysitter (her aunt Ashley).

Clothes:
She still fits in 0-3 month dresses, but they are starting to get short and are getting too small in her legs. Her belly is just so tiny! She mainly wears 6 months clothes and still sleeps in 6 months Pajamas. She wears size 2 diapers and sleeps in size 3 pampers overnights. 

This was the beginning of me going to school full time and not being with her all the time. I feel like it was a big struggle for both of us. I am so used to being able to be with her and never missing a moment. She didn't sleep as well at night in the beginning, but I think she just missed her mom. She still has no teeth, even though she's been working hard! She loves to go on walks in her jogging stroller and loves the dogs! I can't believe she is about to be as old as she was in my tummy!

7 month update!!

I can't believe I missed this update!! 

Sleep: We were out of town a lot of her 7th month so she didn't have the best sleeping patterns. She enjoyed sleeping in my bed while we were gone, so it was hard to transition her to sleeping back in her bed. Honestly I loved her sleeping in bed with me, but Michael doesn't sleep well so she had to go back to her bed. I also went back to school at the end up the month so I started changing her bedtime routine. This made bedtime a little rough a couple nights. She went back to nursing more often. Some nights I was up 5 or 6 times a night nursing her. Naps were still hit or miss, but about 3 or 4, 20 minute naps. 

Food: She still nursed every 3-4 hours during the day and pretty much whenever she woke up at night. She started onto stage 2 foods, 3 times a day. She eats a fruit at breakfast, a veggie at lunch, and a meat with veggies at dinner. She also really began feeding herself really well. She loved puffs and baby Mum mums! I broke them both into pieces because she would feed herself too many at one time.

Firsts: This month she took her first family vacation, sat up by herself, sat in a high chair at a restaurant, saw the Alamo, saw her first play, sat in the front of the cart at Target, stood up by herself, sat on her push car, and had her first September 11th. I'd say it was a big month for such a little girl!

Clothes: Still wearing some 0-3 months clothes. They are starting to get too short in the tops but shorts and dresses still fit pretty nicely. She is still sleeping in 6 month pajamas. She is beginning to wear 3-6 months and 6 months clothes. They are kind of big, but they fit in length. She is still in size 2 diapers and wears size 3 pampers overnights at night.

The One About 8 Month Pics!

So I attempted {key word attempted} to take some pictures of Kinsey today with my big camera. It wasn't as successful as I wanted it to be. I took about 75 pictures and there are maybe 10 or so that are decent. Most of them she is looking at the floor, playing with the grass, or trying to eat the bridge next to our house. I am hoping to get some photo help from a few of my friends before I try again. It was fun to be with my girl outside on such a nice day! I thought I'd share a picture that is very representative of her 8th month!

She has been working on her teeth for what feels like months!! Her gums are swollen, she is drooling out the wahzoo, and chews on everything! Hopefully we get some teeth and some relief soon!!

The One with All the Toys!!!

So I'm sure it's not a surprise that Kinsey has a lot of toys! Anything I see at the store that I think she smiles at, or might like to play with, or might be developmentally good for her, I buy it. Well we have officially run out of room in our living room, and she's not old enough for a play room, so it was time to organize and de-clutter!! I put all of her "baby" toys away and moved things around a little. I'm sure this is only a temporary fix because I'll end up with more toys, but it looks better for now!!

We still need to find a new home for the DVDs, but I think it looks a lot less messy!! :) I just love my little model showing off her clean play mat!!

The One About Our Girls Trip!!

The weekend of Sept. 22 -23, Kinsey and I took a little girl's trip to Austin and Waco to see some good friends of mine! 

Saturday

Saturday we drove to Austin to see our friends Annie and Katie! Katie and I were best friends at Baylor and ended up getting married a week apart, our babies were due 2 weeks apart and both girls have names that end in the same sound. Well little miss Annie Lin, decided to come a week late, and Kinsey Brynn came a week early. They ended up being almost exactly 12 hours apart! Annie was born on January 16, 2012 at 10:19pm and Kinsey was born January 17, 2012 at 10:13am. Even though they were born so close together, the girls are so different! Annie is very mobile and is pulling up on everything. Kinsey talks all the time and likes to investigate and figure things out. It is so cool being able to talk to my best friend about our daughters!!! We've gotten them together before, but they were only about 4 months old, so this time was much more fun!

Having a best friend with a baby the same age has really been a blessing! We texted each other during our labors, stayed up together when nursing late at night, and exchange stats at each well baby check up! I can't wait for these girls to grow up together and possibly become Baylor Thetas like their mommas! Next time they see each other will probably be around their 1st birthdays!!

Sunday

On Sunday Kinsey and I packed up and headed to Waco for a friend of mine's baby shower! Audra was almost 37 weeks at the time, and chose to keep her baby's gender a secret! She is so much stronger than I was! I had to know as soon as I could. Her and her husband are going to make great parents and I can't wait for her to join the mommy club! It is so awesome that more of my friends are 

 becoming mommies!! 

Then we met up with another best friend of mine, Tandra! She has a little girl named Tynlea who is almost a full year older than Kinsey. I was there for the birth of Tynlea (in the waiting room) and have loved seeing her grow up! It was so cute to see how Kinsey interacted with Tynlea while we were there!
